In this paper we report a case of a chromosome structural aberration with three reciprocal translocations involving six chromosomes. The patient is a 10-month ma le infant. His major clinical feature is ocular hypertelorism, flat nasal bridge,l ow-set ears, severe mental retardation and narrow anus hole. The chromosome analys is of his peripheral blood lymphocyte using G-banding techniques shows the karyo type of 46,XY,t(2;3),t(6;15),t(7;14).It involves chromosomes Nos.2,3,6,15,7,14. As far as we know such chromosome structural aberration has not been reporte d in China and in the literature on chromosome aberrations.Three possible origin s of the chromosome structural aberration are considered, and the genetic effects of balanced translocation are discussed.
