Studies on Developmental Genetics of Isozymes in Goldfish (Carassius auratus L.)II.Analysis of Lactate Dehydrogenase Isozymes During Embryogensis of Goldfish

In the present study,the changes of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) isozymes during Xi Ji Colour-crucian carp and Red High-head goldfish embryogensis were analysed by vertical slab starch gel electrophoresis in order to gain some information fo r studying gene regulation during embryogensis. We have analysed by electrophoresis the samples of eight different stages,na mely,unfertilized egg,high blastual early stage,blood circulating stage,hatching stage,free swimming stage,liver-forming stage,air bladder-forming two chambers stage and scaleforming stage.The results showed that in LDH isozymes zymograms d uring Xi Ji Colour-crucian carp and Red High-head goldfish embryogensis from nuf ertilized egg to hatching stage,there were five main bands migrating toward the anode.There appeared cathode-oriented bands characterized by the formation of li ver tissue in the free swimming stage of the early stage of liver-forming,which included a cathode band and some cathode-oriented micro-bands.This fully shows t hat the synthesis of specific isozymes of liver tissue is related to the regulat ion of a highly specific LDH gene,which has been initiated to act prior to the e arly stage of liver formation,that is,the free swimming stage.It also shows that these isozymes may have specific functions in metabolism.
