The Journal of Genetics and Genomics (JGG) publishes rigorously peer-reviewed research in the fields of genetics and genomics, highlighting novel and significant advances in understanding of genes from humans to all organisms. JGG is now inviting submissions for a special issue on ‘Human Genetic Disorders’ (to be published in July 2023). Prof. Huijun Yuan, from Institute of Rare Diseases, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, China, Prof. Zhenglin Yang, from Sichuan Academy of Medical Sciences and Sichuan People's Hospital, China, Prof. Yongyong Shi, from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, Prof. Zhiying Wu from Zhejiang University School of Medicine, China, and Prof. Wei Li, from Beijing Children's Hospital, Capital Medical University, China, are the editors for this issue.
The Special Issue welcomes submissions of Original Research, Resources, Methodological articles reporting new discoveries/technical advances/informational data collections/new approaches/innovative changes to existing methods or Review articles providing systemic and forward-looking overview related to the following topics, including but not limited to:
● Identification of novel causal/risk genes and functional study of underlying mechanisms
● Development of new bioinformatic algorithms, tools, databases, and analysis pipelines to improve gene and variant interpretation
● Application of cutting-edge mathematical and computational models, e.g., artificial intelligence, and knowledge graph, in complex disorder studies
● Development of new animal models for human genetic disorders
● High-throughput experimental assays for assessing functional impact of gene variations
● Novel single-cell study approaches benefitting the understanding of genetic disorders
● Advances or perspectives in gene therapy of genetic disorders
The portfolio will be open for incoming manuscripts until April 30, 2023.
All manuscripts will undergo standard peer review and should be submitted through JGG's online submission system (https://www.editorialmanager.com/jgg). Please indicate ‘Special Issue on Human Genetic Disorders’ in the cover letter.
